Dear AAHM Clio Project,

Following the publication of the peer-reviewed paper The Language and Writing System of MS408 (Voynich) Explained, in the journal Romance Studies, many scholars have requested a method paper of instruction in order to participate in translating the manuscript.

Thus, a free method paper is now available to download from the LingBuzz website, titled The Algorithmic Method for Translating MS408 (Voynich): https://ling.auf.net/lingbuzz/004653<https://nam01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fling.auf.net%2Flingbuzz%2F004653&data=02%7C01%7CMEDITERRANEAN_STUDIES-L%40LISTSERV.UCONN.EDU%7C03272f47d6984af7a81d08d705da0099%7C17f1a87e2a254eaab9df9d439034b080%7C0%7C0%7C636984306184471535&sdata=JG7uADP%2FmhV0x%2B2lGg0ZjE7U2VqOjUTHI1iFwxtLr9U%3D&reserved=0>

The manuscript originates from Castello Aragonese, Ischia, Italy, c. 1444, and was written as an aid memoire for Maria of Castile, Queen of Aragon. The manuscript will be of special interest to those involved with researching and teaching the history of medicine, as it covers many herbal remedies, therapies, practises and beliefs relating to female issues in the Medieval: sexual attraction, seduction, conception, miscarriage, gestation, childbirth, parenting, gynaecological issues, illness, medication, death, bereavement, and so on.

Kindest regards,

Dr. Gerard Cheshire.

Research Associate.
