For over 25 years, the Women in Medicine Legacy Foundation has been dedicated to preserving and celebrating the voices and experiences of pioneering women in medicine. The Alma Dea Morani Renaissance Women in Medicine Oral History Project is a signature initiative of our Foundation. Through this project, we capture and share the life stories of recipients of the Alma Dea Morani, MD Renaissance Woman Award—women whose tireless determination, passion, and fortitude have left a profound legacy in the health sciences.
This oral history series provides a unique opportunity for award recipients to tell their stories in their own words, offering invaluable insight into the paths they forged and the impact they’ve made. These recorded interviews will serve as both inspiration and a lasting educational resource for future generations. All of these interviews are done virtually.
The oral histories will be professionally archived at the Harvard Countway Library of Medicine, ensuring enduring public access for researchers, educators, students, and the general public. We currently have 11 oral histories, and you are welcome to review them here WIMLF Oral Histories. In your proposal, we welcome your suggestions for making future oral histories more engaging and useful for both researchers and the general public.
This RFP invites qualified individuals or organizations to submit proposals for continuing this oral history project. We seek a partner who shares our commitment to historical preservation, storytelling, and the advancement of women in medicine. Through this work, we aim to honor those who paved the way and inspire those who will follow. We will begin reviewing proposals July 1, 2025.
