Travel to Buffalo

Buffalo is served by many major airlines. The Buffalo Niagara International Airport (4200 Genesee St) is approximately 15 minutes from the Hyatt Regency Buffalo.

Amtrak runs regular service to Buffalo from New York City, Boston, and Chicago. If you travel by Amtrak, choose the Exchange Street Station, which is about 8 blocks from the Hyatt hotel.

Ground transportation options from the airport or the train station include Uber and Lyft. If you prefer to use public transit, the Metro line directly connects the train station and the Hyatt; information about travel from the airport can be found here.

Call for Posters

Good news – we have space for additional posters at the 2026 annual meeting in Buffalo!

To be considered, please send a short abstract to Program Committee co-chairs Jacob Steere-Williams and Rana Hogarth at [email protected] by March 20, 2026.

Niagara Falls Excursion (Optional Add-On)

While you’re in nearby Buffalo, take the opportunity to visit Niagara Falls! A chartered bus will depart from the conference hotel (Hyatt) at 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 7, for a self-guided, two-hour visit to the Falls. The bus will return to the Hyatt between 4:00 and 5:00 pm. Travel time is approximately 25 minutes each way.

Cost: $50 per person

How to join: Select the Niagara Falls Excursion option when registering for the meeting.

FIVE REASONS TO BE EXCITED THAT
AAHM + AAHN IS IN BUFFALO THIS YEAR!

The weather.

Everyone thinks snow when they hear Buffalo, but that’s just wintertime. Buffalo summers are the sunniest and driest of any major city in the Northeast (It’s true! Look it up!).

June temps average mid 70s during the day, high 50s at night.

The entertainment.

Walk from the conference hotel to Triple-A minor league baseball,
Canalside (boardwalk, boat rentals, riverside promenade), live music, Sharkgirl, active nightlife (check out Duende), and more.

Plus there’s an optional chartered bus visit to Niagara Falls! Everyone has to see it at least once.

The food.

In part because it’s so affordable! Buffalo has plenty of adventurous and/or fine dining options, some just a walk from the conference hotel. And of course, the Buffalo wings are next level.
Our favorites spots near the Hyatt? Check out Lucky Day, Graylynn, and Fattey Beer Co. Buffalo.

The architecture.

Buffalo’s rich history as a former city on the rise has left it with a wealth of notable architecture including massive grain silos (again, check out Duende), Louis Sullivan’s Guaranty Building (a short walk from the conference hotel), the Richardson-Olmsted Campus (originally the Buffalo State Asylum), the restored Darwin Martin House (Frank Lloyd Wright), and more.

The affordability.

All this food, drink, and entertainment come at small-city prices.
